“Ed,
Jerry had heart surgery this afternoon. They had to replace the Mitral valve. They tried using micro wave on Saturday. And took a wait and see. Well today they had to replace it. He wanted to know if he would be mooing or oinking… when it was over. The doctor , Dr Patel, said he would be in ICU through the weekend.

Update, March 28 morning…
I just received this update from Admiral Jerry’s wife:
“Jerry is back in surgery. They are doing a “bronchoscopy” with deep suction”. He was having an issue with his breathing. 😮💨
He is not his jolly old self since he went into the hospital.

Update on the Admiral…
I just received this note from Heather, Jerry’s wife today/Sunday the 29th:
“Ed, Jerry is doing very well. The doctor said he is amazed at how well he recovers for someone his age. He should be home by the middle of the week, maybe sooner. They need the bed for sick people.”
I am hoping to talk with him soon. /Ed
PS: I missed the net today. Up late with my brother in from Michigan, a late poker game, etc. Waiting for the Michigan/Tennessee game to begin. see you all tomorrow for the Monday net.

I just talked to Admiral Jerry on the phone. He called me, sounded good considering all he has been through. Two heart surgeries since last week. Hopes to get discharged tomorrow, Tuesday. Nice chat. Please keep him in your prayers. He is one tough dude!
